Bespoke Pair of Braided Wedding Rings

A pair of sterling silver wedding rings made for a couple who wanted very different things but for the rings to be connected in some way. We had a chat about their own personal styles and had a look at some options together, as well as what finishes and forms they were drawn to. I showed them some of the pieces I had on my bench at the time and one ring that stood out was a braided ring I was in the process of making. They both liked the style and the symbolism of this, with braids often representing unity and the weaving of a new life.

They both had very different ideas for what they liked and I suggested one ring having the braid on the outside of the ring, and the other instead having the braid stamped into the inside of the ring.

The ring with the braid on the outside had a border either side of the braid which I textured, while the ring with the braid on the inside was kept minimal with a mirror polish.

I always like seeing how we can join together two pieces like this while keeping with different styles. It was such a pleasure to work on these special pieces for these wonderful clients.
