A pair of custom wedding rings in sterling silver, 18 carat gold

I made promise rings for this couple a couple of years ago so being asked to do their wedding rings was really special.

They called in to my studio earlier in the summer to chat through ideas and we arrived at these textured thick bands. They were designed in mixed metal, a solid sterling silver base with 18k yellow gold dust to build up the texture and add colour to the surface. I love this method of building texture up on pieces as it leaves a beautiful organic finish that catches the light really nicely. They decided to add 18k yellow gold plating as well just to really amp up the yellow gold tone, which I don't usually do, but as they were designed to be mixed metal, even when the plate fades over time they'll look great.

I stamped their initials and wedding date on the inside for them as well.
